Properties and benefits

Ingredients from Quebec

Quebec fig leaves (Ficus carica).

Brewing Tips

To fully enjoy their green and slightly sweet aroma:

use 1 to 2 dried leaves (or the equivalent crumbled, about 1 tbsp per cup of hot water);

pour in simmering water (90-95 °C);

cover and let steep for 10 to 15 minutes;

Filter, then enjoy plain or with a touch of honey.

Fig leaves give off a sweet fragrance reminiscent of the fruit's milk and warm summer days. An infusion of the leaves can also be enjoyed cold, after steeping for a few hours in the refrigerator.
